The exhibition "Square and Space. From Malevich to GES-2" was held in the House of Culture "GES-2" in Moscow, exploring the influence of Kazimir Malevich on the art of the XX century and the interaction of viewers with the work and the work with the viewer.

How could we find Malevich in the works of different authors? Using the example of the exhibition's showpieces, which rhyme with the artist's discoveries and other avant-garde ideas, one can see the image of a square somewhere - non-objectivity or a game with space.

This is an international project with invited curators Francesco Bonami and Zelfira Tregulova. The exhibition included works by iconic authors of the 20th century: Gerhard Richter, Pablo Picasso, Kazimir Malevich, Francis Bacon, Eric Bulatov, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Vasily Kandinsky, Alexander Rodchenko, Igor Shelkovsky and others.

The building, reconstructed according to the design of Renzo Piano, also became part of the exhibition - this is both the first work that the viewer sees and the background for the entire project. Within its framework, the story is about how the creative space gradually expands from a small Square to the scale of the House of Culture.
