Marina Kombalina

VISIONARY AND FOUNDER

Marina was born in Moscow to a family of engineers who devoted their lives to space research. She graduated from Moscow State Textile University named after A.N. Kosygin, Faculty of Applied Arts, and then studied design graphics at Moscow Architectural Institute. Marina has been working in interiors and architecture design industry since 2004. During her student years, she gained experience in the fashion empire of Valentin Yudashkin, participated in the Nadezhda Lamanova competition of professional fashion designers at the Vyacheslav Zaitsev Fashion House and the international competition of young designers "Russian Silhouette". Years later, she worked as an interior designer for Armani Casa (Italy). She has repeatedly visited the studio of Zurab Tsereteli, honored muralist and Russian Academy of Arts President. She studied the subtleties of the antique business in Russia and France.

She also graduated from SKOLKOVO Business School, where invaluable experience in using unique technologies and innovations in construction and design was gained. Building on the world's best practices in her industry and related areas, Marina developed the concept of her bureau with the assistance of new partners from the sphere of Artificial Intelligence and PropTech. She maintained her graduate thesis on creating a new type of human-oriented space. With the SKOLKOVO team, she went on the UAE Global Shift expedition to research the international market for the provision of luxury services and the construction industry development by applying the latest technologies in the Middle East where she acquired valuable networking.

Before starting her own business, Marina had a long professional career in corporations and development companies as a creative director and chief designer. Significant large-scale projects are as follows: the Gorky Gorod for the Olympics in Sochi, Technopark in Skolkovo with Zaha Hadid Architects, and the new headquarters for Sberbank PJSC, Mriya Resort & SPA territory, including Wine Park, presidential villas, and reconstruction of the waterfront under the regional development program in Southern Russia together with the Italian architect Marco Casamonti (Archea Associati) and Japanese landscape architect Shiro Nakane – a hereditary curator of the imperial gardens in Kyoto. Marina managed these projects as the chief designer and was responsible for the main package of the Sberbank PJSC (the largest bank in Russia and business ecosystem) construction projects. Also, unique projects include the Noble Row, Ultra Luxury residences in the center of Moscow in cooperation with the Ralph Lauren Home (USA), and several Deluxe real estate projects in cooperation with Western stars of architecture, design, and marketing.

Marina was an expert in closed international competitions for the Skolkovo Technopark interiors, the President floors interiors and architecture for the new headquarters of Sberbank PJSC, the architecture and urban planning for the Senezh education project in Solnechnogorsk, Moscow region. In addition, Marina developed a cooperation program for the implementation of the Sberbank PJSC construction projects with China and the exchange of experience. She is a winner of international awards and a member of professional communities in Russia and the UK.

A luxurious house with an incredibly stylish atmosphere is located in the most respectable area of the Golden Mile of Moscow. Barkli Virgin House is the first residential project in Moscow, created with the participation of famous English designer Kelly Hoppen. The windows offer magnificent views of the Kremlin, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Zachatyevsky Monastery, and Ostozhenka. Kelly's style has a modern English courtyard in the private outdoor area. The elegant terraces on the rooftop are like the deck of a delightful liner. The architectural style of the building is based on the contrasting elements of classicism and constructivism. The entrance to the house is made in the form of an arch leading to a two-level entrance group. In both classic and modern there are twenty-one apartments with areas ranging from 120 to 360 m2. A maximum of two apartments were intended to be on each floor to maintain a very private atmosphere. The residents of the upper floors have the option to install in-house fireplaces.
The lobby interiors feature rich dark shades and natural marble, slate, wenge, and brass textures. The combination of these materials, the unique planning of the space symmetry, and the arch passage leave a feeling of discreet brutal luxury and superiority of taste.
