A large-scale exhibition project at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Nicholas Roerich's birth (1874–1947), the famous artist, thinker, archaeologist, and traveler. Roerich's work is an exceptional phenomenon in Russian history and world art. Roerich's paintings attract people with original plots, full of poetry and mystery, free-thinking, and deep symbolism. The remarkable life of Nicholas Roerich is like a wonderful legend.

His life began in Russia, continued in Europe and America, and ended in Asia. Roerich's legacy includes more than 7,000 works, a huge part of them exhibited in leading museums worldwide. This exhibition project presented more than a hundred paintings and graphic works. The author’s palette and original presentation incredibly personify the author’s unique “color tonality” in various periods of creativity, life path, and geography of travel.
