THROUGH ART

About

St. Moritz

We live in a time of rapid development of construction technologies. Modern designers are bringing to life ideas that were recently discussed in the pages of science fiction novels. Solar panels, energy storage, smart lighting, sliding facades, integration with mobile devices, and all kinds of sensors - all of these are already used in high-tech projects. These objects are similar to living organisms with a sense of smell, hearing, and vision, where a comfortable microclimate has been created with the help of innovations. But in addition to technology, in unique author’s projects, it's important to reveal the individuality of the owners through special artistic techniques. This project is full of references to high artisans in all its forms - from unique natural finishes to works of art, elegant lamps, furniture, fabrics, and accessories.

The customers of this project are a mature couple who appreciate a mix of technology and aesthetics in everything down to the smallest details. In addition, both are passionate about the work of artists of the elegant direction in contemporary Art. During the discussion of references for the project, we reviewed the albums of various artists and it was great to feel the unity of preferences with the customers. Plus, the selected pieces of Art guided the creation of the color palette and the finishes for the entire project. Here, microcement is used in the flooring, and the fireplace and kitchen fronts are finished in patinated brass. The marble countertop and island are made of chocolate Emperador Dark. Walnut veneer is used for wall decoration. The most delicate velour and wool were chosen for furniture decoration and curtains.

The project features an incredible Art Mirror by Christophe Gaignon, furniture by Christophe Delcourt, a strong proponent of sophisticated and ecological design, and accessories by the legendary bureau Christian Liaigre. The handcrafted decorative lighting was chosen from the French studio Ozone Light. Moreover, the Classique model in the kitchen-dining area is used in the finishing of dark patinated brass and white polished onyx. And in the living room area, the same model looks completely different thanks to the metal polished to a mirror shine. The creators of the brand, Etienne Gounot and Eric Jähnke, particularly treat this model, created as part of the first prestigious Ozone project in 2005 for the Taillevent restaurant in Paris. Made from solid material, like most Ozone products, the classic models feature a stunning level of finishing, however, as well as everything that was used in the project.
