For the first time in the World exhibitions history for EXPO 2020 in Dubai, each country has created its own pavilion. World-famous bureaus such as Marco Pestalozza, Santiago Calatrava, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, AGi Architects, Foster + Partners, Grimshaw Architects, and others were invited to design. Each country, using the language of architecture and design, sought to reveal its uniqueness and international perspective, demonstrating the technical and technological achievements of mankind.
The topic of the World EXPO 2020 was CONNECTING MINDS, CREATING THE FUTURE. It was the first global exhibition in the MENA & SA region (Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia). More than 190 countries have confirmed their participation in EXPO 2020. The number of visitors was about 23 million, with about 70% coming from foreign countries. The review area was divided into three thematic sectors: "Opportunity", "Mobility" and "Sustainability". Six months after the World Expo, the District 2020 main exhibition area has to be repurposed as a Human-Centered City of the Future and will continue its development.
